چکیده

We consider the problem of cross-stitching a predetermined pattern on a piece of fabric. We show that computing a stitching sequence that minimizes the amount of thread used when cross-stitching a pattern is NPhard. However if the region to be stitched is connected, then the optimal solution can be obtained in linear time.

Fast Cryptographic Computation on Intel(R) Architecture Processors via Function Stitching

Cryptographic applications often run more than one independent algorithm such as encryption and authentication. This fact provides a high level of parallelism which can be exploited by software and converted into instruction level parallelism to improve overall performance on modern super-scalar processors. We present fast and efficient methods of computing such pairs of functions on IA process...

Delamination Behaviour of 3d-textile Reinforced Composites – Experimental and Numerical Approaches

The requirements on aircraft engine design have increased rapidly over the last decades. Future aircrafts engines are expected to be more efficient with lower operation costs and without compromising safety. Concerning the complex requirements for fan systems or fan containments, composite materials are able to fully avail their high potential with regard to a significant weight reduction and a...

Image Stitching of the Computed Radiology images Using a Pixel-Based Approach

In this paper, a method for automatic stitching of radiology images based on pixel features has been presented. In this method, according to the smooth texture of radiological images and in order to increase the number of the extracted features after quality enhancement of initial radiology images, 45 degree isotropic mask is applied to each radiology image to observe the image details. After t...

A Hybrid CPU-GPU System for Stitching of Large Scale Optical Microscopy Images

Researchers in various fields are using optical microscopy to acquire very large images, 10 000–200 000 of pixels per side. Optical microscopes acquire these images as grids of overlapping partial images (thousands of pixels per side) that are then stitched together via software. Composing such large images is a compute and data intensive task even for modern machines. Researchers compound this...

Dermatologic Microsutures Using Human Hair: A Useful Technique in Cutaneous Stitching

Background: Facial wounds are challenging for dermatologic surgeons, particularly traumatic facial wounds, because they can yield disfiguring scars. To obtain good results, narrow needles and sutures are needed. Hair filaments have a very small diameter (0.06-0.1 mm) and could serve as suture threads for facial wounds. Objective: To determine the aesthetic outcomes by using autologous hair to s...
